If you haven’t experienced the greatness of an Acai bowl yet, you’re missing out! Team StudioHop’s favorite things to grab post-workout is an Acai Berry Bowl from Nektar. Seriously, they’re the best thing but you will be freezing the rest of the day (minor side effect). However, sometimes we just want to roll out of bed and whip one of these up for ourselves! So, here’s how to make THE PERFECT Acai Bowl from home!
We got our insider tips on how to make these from THIS BLOG, which also happens to be our founder’s foodie blog. Hey, we’re not biased. We just wanted an insiders tips and tricks!
What you’ll need:
Smoothie Ingredients:
Makes 2 Acai Bowls
(You’ll blend the below ingredients together until creamy. The goal consistency is to be thicker than a smoothie. You can add extra Almond Milk to get the blender going but just a small amount. )
-1 Acai Frozen Packets or 4 tbls. Acai Power (You can get both at Whole Foods or Central Market)
-2 Bananas (freeze the bananas if you want a creamier texture)
-2 cups Frozen berries of your choice (strawberries and blueberries are our favorites)
-1-2 tbls. Almond Butter
-1 cup. Almond milk (start with 1/2 cup, adding the rest slowly as you need. this is key to achieving the ice cream consistency you want!)
-1/2 to 1 tbls. honey or Agave Nectar for added sweetness
Toppings:
(These are completely up to you. Get creative and use whatever gives you energy for taking on the day you have planned ahead! Below are our suggestions.)
-Fresh Granola
-Chia seeds
-Fresh Strawberries and blueberries
-1/2 a Fresh Banana
-Sprinkle of sliced coconut if it’s around the house when we make these
-Raw oats
-Drizzle honey
Spoon on all your ingredients and snap your pictures because these will be almost too pretty to eat! The best thing is that they will ALWAYS taste good but it may take you a few tries to get the consistency perfect. Tag us in your pictures @studiohopfit when you give these a try at home!
