Meet Abbie, owner of StudioPOP in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She IS fun and she BELIEVES in fun. Her studio is all about feeling happy, strong, and accomplished. Keep reading to learn a little more about Abbie–inside & outside of her yoga and indoor cycling studio.
Why do you teach fitness? I teach fitness because it’s the best way I know how to get a whole group of people (including myself) to feel happy, strong and accomplished in less than an hour!
What’s the best health/wellness advice you’ve ever received that has actually helped? Don’t worry about finding the workout that burns the most calories or promises results fast. Find the workout you love to do because that’s the one you’ll stick with in the long run!
What’s your favorite workout to do when you’re not teaching? I love HIIT workouts and Pilates!
What’s the last song you listened to on Spotify? Recently I’ve been grooving to old Underworld tracks like “Moon in Water”
Best thing in your fridge right now? Fresh spinach – it makes everything better! You can toss it in a smoothie, saute it and serve it with fried eggs, whatever!
Go-to pre or post-workout snack? Hummus, hummus and more hummus!
Go-to beverage? Americano, no question! If I’ve been slacking on eating veggies, I’ll drink a bottle of water with a Super Greens powder mixed in.
Favorite splurge meal/dessert? Spaghetti Bolognese. If I’m ever on death row, that’s what I want for my last meal! Now you know. 😛
Where do you get your health/wellness information? (blog, website, podcast, etc.) I like the New York Times “Well” blog. It has a great variety of articles on everything related to physical health, mental health and fitness.
Favorite way to unwind after a long day/week? Hanging out with my family. (Cliche, but true!)
Best part of your job? Watching friendships develop and connections being made at my studio. I LOVE it when my clients connect over business or some shared need or experience and then take that connection outside the studio and make something happen! Knowing that I played a part in that makes me happy!
